All of our scent is collected daily in the fall from individual deer and immediately frozen to lock in maximum freshness. Fresh urine should never have a harsh ammonia odor—spoiled scent makes your mock scrapes look abandoned and ignored. Fresh scent tricks local deer into thinking a new deer has just entered their territory, triggering their natural instincts to investigate and challenge the newcomer's rank in the pecking order. Mock Scrapes
(Starting in August): Clear a 3' x 3' area of fresh dirt using scent-free rubber boots along a active deer trail, directly under low-hanging branches (licking branches). Apply the buck scent to the freshly exposed dirt.

Storage & Freshness
Freeze unused scent immediately after returning from the field. It can be thawed and refrozen multiple times, but discard it if it develops an ammonia smell—spoiled scent will spook deer instead of attracting them.
